CONTESTS AT SSIA's 2024 CONVENTION
SSIA is holding two exciting contests at its 2024 convention that offer opportunities for exposure for your business and shoe repair as a whole. You must me a member to participate (click here to join). Here are the details.
SSIA SHINE OFF
To enter SSIA's Shine Off, shine one men's dress shoe (color of your choice) with a mirror shine done by hand. (No shine stands. No machines.) Photograph your shined shoe and send the photos to SSIA by March 31. (Click here for details on how to enter.)
Three finalists will be chosen from the e-mailed entries to participate in a live shine-off at the convention. The winner will receive a cash prize of $500, a plaque and bragging rights as SSIA's top shoe shiner.
PIMP THAT SHOE
SSIA's Pimp That Shoe contest combines the craftsmanship required for the Silver Cup Contest with the creativity to finish the entry in a way that showcases your unique skills. We hope to show off both the skill and the creativity in our industry. (Click here for details on how to enter.)
The urban dictionary defines pimp out as "to upgrade or make gangster." Use your skill and creativity to "pimp out" a man's shoe and submit it with its unrepaired mate. Judges will award a Gold, Silver and Bronze award with cash prizes of $500, $250 and $150 respectively. Convention attendees will also select a "People's Choice" award winner with a cash prize of $150.
