If you are planning
to come to Baltimore for this summer's SSIA
convention, a course has been added for Monday
July 20. This is a great opportunity for C-Peds
to acquire 16 continuing educational points. The
session will be held in the same hotel as the
SSIA convention.
This is also be a great way for non C.Peds to
become Certified Shoe Fitters as will be
required to bill Medicare starting September 30,
2009.

An ABC®-certified fitter of
therapeutic shoes is an individual trained and
qualified in the provision of non-custom
therapeutic shoes and non-custom diabetic
multi-density inserts.
The 1+1 program
consists of an eight-hour online component
comprised of Flash-based narrated PowerPoint
lectures, and comprehensive lab assignments
followed by an eight-hour live class covering
the hands-on and lab components. It is ideal for
the busy professional that has intermediate
computer skills. A high-speed Internet
connection is required.
The Internet portion must be completed before
attending the class in Baltimore.

This course is preapproved for ABC 13.5(s) and
2.5(b) credits.
