I have a pair of cheap restaurant waiter shoes that are reallly comfortable and look decent. Recently the heel started peeling away from the body of the shoe though.

How can I fix it? I thought about epoxy, but I wasn't sure if it would be too brittle to let the shoe flex. I wasn't sure if silicon would hold well enough. Is there a brand of glue, or some other way to fix it that you guys would recommend?

Thanks,
Simon

Simon,

This a job for your local shoe repair shop, they will have the proper glue and machinery to make it work.

Thanks for asking!

Dana,
Thanks for the answer, but it's a $40 pair of shoes. How much is a repair likely to cost? I just started working again 2 months ago, and I don't have a lot of money to sink into a pair of shoes. That's why I was looking for a do-it-yourself solution.

Thanks,
Simon

Simon,

Congrats on your new job.

This is not a good type of do-it-yourself job. Take it to a shop - see how much it will cost to have it repaired correctly.

Price is not something we can post on this web-site.

Good luck,
Dana
