I am PRAYING someone can help my girlfriend and I. She has a pair of white patent leather knee high boots, made by Colin Stuart. The inside of the boot is stamped "leather Upper" what ever that means. I do not think they are fake leather, as they were about 300.00 and by Colin Stuart... She has never worn these boots in the 2 years she has had them and was going to last night but the boots are no longer bright white. They have begun to yellow in some places, some places more then others, and they have lost the bright white color they once were being tinted yellow now. They have sat in the closet, and again NEVER WORN. Heck I dont think she even tried them on when she bought them. Is there a way to restore them to get rid of the slight yellow? is there a special polish, dye and cleaner? Is there a Dye that would re-dye them bright white? It is NOT super noticeable, but you can tell in spots, and she can tell. This in turn is driving her nuts, she is on a mission to fix them, which in turn is driving me nuts. We have tried home remedies using glass cleaner, goo gone, nail polish remover, Clorox cleaner with bleach and only did it on a small spot, trying to rub out the yellow. nothing has worked. She emailed someone who suggested she spray paint them white, and this was a "shoe expert" he titled himself as. ugh. Rather then take them to my shop and stick them in the paint booth and have the kid look at me like I have 400 heads, HELP before I lose my mind! I was directed here by urad.com and they stated this was the place to ask

Unless it is a counterfeit boot the stamp "Leather Upper" means the boot is leather even though the sole and heel may be man made material.
DO NOT use glass cleaner, goo gone, nail polish remover, Clorox cleaner with bleach or take them to your shop and stick them in the paint booth. These could cause problems that can't be reversed.
Take them to a knowledgeable shoe repairer in your area and let him/her take a look to see what can be done to fix this problem. If there is not a good craftsman in your area you may want to send them to someone that can help you. Let us know where you are located and we may be able to recommend someone near you.
