Is this repairable with something other than glue? Suggestions? Lastly, does anyone know of a true "quality" shop in Atlanta that could handle the work.
Thanks so much for the help!

to try to sew that part of the sole/toe area, by sewing machine, will be an adventure. we probably would glue it first, to try to hold the two parts together, and then sew it.
If I could get my hand/s into the shoe, I might try to use a hand sewing needle. Either way, count on the shoemaker pricing it as a bit more than just sewing it.
I suggest going to the front page of our website - www.ssia.info and scroll down to the shop locater feature. We have members in our association that are in your area.
for example:
Village Shoe Service 4286 Railroad Ave. Tucker, GA 30084 Contact: Larry Schupbach Phone: 770-938-7463 shoecobbler@mindspring.com http://www.villageshoeservice.com
let him know that you posted a picture on our website, so he can see the shoe, otherwise bring it in.

Gene,
Thanks for the response and the recommendation. Would all of the stores/persons affilitated with SSIA in the Atlanta area have similar knowledge/expertise? Only reason I ask is because in seeking shoe repairs before I have found that certain stores (or the person) couldn't handle the repair. Only to drive to another place and they have no problem with it.
I am guessing this isn't a typical/easy repair as the first store said the only thing they could do was glue it.
Thanks

some car repair places specialize only in mufflers, or brakes, or radiators, or oil changes with changing the light bulbs. They have chosen to specialize in that field. There might be a shop that will do most of the labor type repairs, but don't do computer solutions...That doesn't mean they are a bad shop, that is what they have decided to do to make the kind of money they want to make.
Keep looking, but have the shoes WITH YOU.
